Paloma Efron, tambi\u00e9n conocida como \u00abBlackie\u00bb, naci\u00f3 el 6 de diciembre de 1912 en Basavilbaso y falleci\u00f3 el 3 de septiembre de 1977 en Buenos Aires. Fue una destacada periodista, conductora pionera en la radio y televisi\u00f3n argentina, y en sus inicios, incursion\u00f3 como cantante de m\u00fasica jazz. En su honor, el 6 de diciembre se celebra el d\u00eda del productor de radio y televisi\u00f3n argentino. Blackie es reconocida como la primera cantante profesional de jazz de Argentina.<\/p>\n

Paloma Efron naci\u00f3 en Basavilbaso, provincia de Entre R\u00edos, en una familia jud\u00eda. A los cinco a\u00f1os, se mud\u00f3 con su familia a Buenos Aires. Despu\u00e9s de completar la escuela primaria, inicialmente se inclin\u00f3 hacia la qu\u00edmica y trabaj\u00f3 como bibliotecaria en el Instituto Cultural Argentino-Estadounidense. Sin embargo, su verdadera pasi\u00f3n era la m\u00fasica, y comenz\u00f3 a cantar, lo que le abri\u00f3 puertas en la radio y la llev\u00f3 a conocer c\u00edrculos intelectuales. Aunque dej\u00f3 los estudios formales para cuidar a su madre enferma, aprendi\u00f3 varios idiomas, incluyendo ingl\u00e9s, franc\u00e9s, italiano, portugu\u00e9s, alem\u00e1n y hebreo. Comenz\u00f3 como cantante aficionada, ampliando su repertorio desde canciones en \u00eddish hasta m\u00fasica g\u00f3spel y jazz. En 1934, a los 21 a\u00f1os, gan\u00f3 un concurso de Radio Stentor con la canci\u00f3n \u00abStormy Weather\u00bb. Su padre la alent\u00f3 a viajar a Estados Unidos para estudiar jazz y sumergirse en la cultura afroamericana. Durante siete a\u00f1os, estudi\u00f3 Antropolog\u00eda en la Universidad de Columbia y se relacion\u00f3 con importantes figuras del mundo del jazz.<\/p>\n
Al regresar a Buenos Aires con el nombre art\u00edstico \u00abBlackie\u00bb, trabaj\u00f3 en el Teatro Maipo y se interes\u00f3 por la radio y la televisi\u00f3n. Inici\u00f3 una legendaria carrera en la radio, presentando programas como \u00abLa historia del jazz\u00bb y \u00abEl show de las estrellas\u00bb. En televisi\u00f3n, destac\u00f3 como conductora en vivo con programas como \u00abCita con las estrellas\u00bb. Blackie se dedic\u00f3 tambi\u00e9n a la producci\u00f3n de programas televisivos como \u00abOdol Pregunta\u00bb y \u00abTitanes en el Ring\u00bb. Impuls\u00f3 las carreras de numerosas personalidades, desde bailarines hasta periodistas. Su programa m\u00e1s famoso fue \u00abVolver a vivir\u00bb.<\/p>\n
Blackie falleci\u00f3 a los 64 a\u00f1os en Buenos Aires debido a complicaciones de una \u00falcera estomacal y un infarto.
